First View of Crenshaw Hall
The tree lined lane with its overhanging branches invokes a peaceful, bucolic feeling and prepares you for the charm of Crenshaw Hall. Coming up through the trees on your right, you catch the first glimpse of Crenshaw Hall. This whitewood frame structure with its distinctive green shutters, slate roof and red painted chimneys is situated on the highest point in Wake County.
One of the first things your eyes are drawn to is the green shutters on the home. A neat fact is that most of the shutters are original. Replacement shutters were hand made on site by a long-time family friend, Tim Chase, who is a master craftsman. Tim used no modern building materials such as nails in making these shutters. Take time when you are closer to observe the handiwork.
