Bridal Porch and Wedding Garden
Going back into the Parlor, you will notice a door that leads outside to the Bridal Porch and the Wedding Garden. The Bridal Porch was constructed in 1860 and is decorated in a very ornate carved flat board trim. This porch is one of the oldest and most ornate examples of Italianate style found in the South.
At the far end of the Wedding Garden is an exquisite outdoor garden alter designed by Margot DeBarmore for use in wedding ceremonies. The unique trellis design was created to allow brides the freedom to choose what flowers they wanted to be surrounded by on their special day. The Wedding Garden is flanked on either side by enormous Japanese maple trees, each over 100 years old. In the fall, the color of these trees along with the other trees on the property is breath-taking.
One advantage of Crenshaw Hall is that all of the locations on the property can be tented and access to each location can be covered so that weather will not prevent or change your plans. Therefore, from the time a guest arrives, weather will not be a factor or hindrance.
